Property Location Located on 340 picturesque acres in the heart of Virginia’s horse and wine country, Salamander Resort & Spa is just 40 miles west of Washington, D.C. and a 35-minute drive from Dulles Airport. With the historic village of Middleburg just steps away, guests may enjoy a short stroll to downtown shops and stores. Designed to blend into its natural environment and with respect the architectural traditions of Virginia’s countryside, the resort features 168 rooms and suites, an exquisite 23,000-square-foot luxury spa with one-of-a-kind features like outdoor patios and a spa courtyard, Harrimans Virginia Piedmont Grill overseen by Executive Chef Bill Welch, a media-ready Cooking Studio, the Gold Cup Wine Bar and Billiard Room and a two-acre Culinary Garden. In keeping with its geographical setting, the resort also includes a full-service equestrian center and an array of programming, while the property’s 22-stall stable offers equine enthusiasts the opportunity to bring their horses along on vacation.

Business Amenities: The resort also features 12,000 square feet of indoor conference and event facilities, including a Grand Ballroom and unique outdoor spaces like the Grand Lawn, Courtyard Garden and a restored 100-year-old Stallion Barn. Accommodations: There are 168 guest rooms, including 17 suites, measuring 545–575 square feet that include a spacious sitting area, dining table for two, executive desk and marble-topped vanity table. All 17 suites and half of the guestrooms feature a beautiful gas fireplace and 40-inch flat panel television in each bedroom and a 15-inch LCD television in each bath. Bath also includes a marble shower with body jets, pedestal tub, dual sinks and enclosed water closet. The private balcony or terrace for each room has two chairs, a cocktail table and expansive countryside views.

The Wellness Center and Spa: The Salamander Spa has 14 deluxe treatment rooms with either private outdoor treatment terraces or fireplaces. In the spa, the Exclusive Couple’s Suite has a private terrace, whirlpool, steam shower and pedestal tub. There are also deluxe locker rooms, a vitality pool with hydrotherapy jets, an aroma-infused steam room, heated stone lounge chairs and experiential water features. The secluded spa courtyard also has an infinity edge pool, fire pit, whirlpool and private cabanas, while the salon features hair, make-up, manicure and pedicure stations. Lastly, the advanced fitness center includes an indoor pool, cardio room, weight room, movement studios, sauna and outdoor terraces.
